Mountain Regional Library System is looking for a permanent Administrative Assistant
Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing professional administrative work for the Mountain Regional Library System.
Examples of Duties
- Answer phone and respond to email correspondence and general community inquiries.
- Assists the Director and Business Office with system-wide financial duties
- Assists the Director and Business Office with Human Resource duties
- Act as the primary supply chain purchasing agent for the library system
- Utilizes an array of essential software packages critical to the library system
- Communicate regularly with library board members and maintain board rosters
- Attend library board meetings, as needed, serving as recorder of meeting minutes.
- Prepare board packets, meeting minutes and other documents as needed.
- Greet visitors to the office, direct to the appropriate party, or aid if necessary.
- Maintain administrative records and files in both paper and digital formats.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Principles, practices and methods of public services in modern public libraries
- Ability to work with others in a variety of circumstances; to work respectfully with staff and the public; to communicate effectively with supervisors, staff and the public.
- Computer literacy including the use of social media
Display the Ability To:
- Identify problems, recommend solutions, and administer library procedures
- Recognize and act upon opportunities and goals
- Manage project timelines, resources, and goals with little direction.
- Meet deadlines

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of job-related experience preferably in an office setting
- Valid Georgia Driver’s license
- HS Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience
- Postsecondary Education is preferred.

Mountain Regional Library System

Position Summary: The Public Services Specialist will provide quality customer service, assistance and information related to library services, fees, procedures, or other issues necessary to complete the daily operations of the Library. This position will require a focus on assistance with library programming for all ages.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Delivery of quality customer service, greeting the public in a welcoming, professional manner is essential
- Assists the Branch Manager with library programs and program preparations
- Understand and perform circulation operations for all library materials
- Assist the public in locating, selecting, and using resources
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs additional tasks as directed.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, staff and the public.

Requirements & Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a customer service field is preferred
